We really do one thing.

Take a space from tired to finished, with every trade it needs, at one price agreed in writing beforehand. That is the whole business. A sticking door is the small version of it. A room is the usual version, and we call that the Room Refresh. A whole house between tenants is the large one.

What follows is that single idea at three sizes and for six familiar reasons, and then, lower down and deliberately quieter, the actual skills it takes. We work across Godmanchester, Huntingdon, St Ives, St Neots and the villages between them.

The size

The same idea at three sizes

People arrive worrying that they are too small a job, or that a whole room is too big an ask. Neither is true. The work is the same shape whichever end you come in at, and you are welcome to move up a rung later or never bother.

One job

A door that sticks, a seal that has failed, a curtain pole nobody has got round to. Ring and ask for exactly that. Coming to look and price it is free and there is no call-out fee, though a visit where we actually work starts at around £110, so one small job is usually worth saving up alongside another. One room

One house

The other question

Everything above assumes something is wrong

A care plan assumes nothing is yet, and sets out to keep it that way. It is the only thing we do that is not a response to a problem. It is also the one that saves people the most money. Two, four or twelve visits a year, the same person each time, working through the list before the list becomes a job.

Seasonal, from £45 a month. Two visits a year, spring and autumn, when a house most wants looking at.

Quarterly, from £79 a month. Four visits, and the rhythm most homes settle into.

Full Stewardship, from £159 a month. Monthly, for busy households, larger homes and second homes.

Remaking a gutter joint is typically around £95. Tracing the penetrating damp it causes, treating the mould and making the wall good is more like £500 to £600, and that is before anybody decorates. Both sit in our indicative pricing and you are welcome to check them. That gap, repeated across a house, is the whole argument.

The reason

Six moments that bring people to us, and a seventh

The work is much the same each time. What changes is why it is happening, and that changes what actually matters. A nursery has a deadline that will not move. A void has a letting date. A parent staying put has their pride, which matters more than either. So we have written the six down separately, because knowing which one you are in tells us more than a list of trades ever would.

The room that has been waiting

Years of meaning to get round to it. The general case, and the one the other five are variations on.

Somebody arriving

A nursery finished early and properly aired, then the rest of the house made sensible before they start moving.

Staying put

A much-loved home quietly adapted so it goes on working. Best done a year early, and chosen by the person who lives there.

Moving on

Sale Ready before you list, or Welcome Home for the first fortnight in a house that is not quite yours yet.

Between tenants

A property reset: refreshed, repaired, properly cleaned and photographed, on the agent's timetable rather than ours.

The garden gone over

The same idea outdoors. Brought back into shape once, then kept in rhythm so it never needs rescuing again.

You would rather not think about it

The seventh, and the only one that is not an event. Events end. This is the arrangement for afterwards.

Or none of the above

These are starting points rather than a menu. They can be combined, taken apart, or reduced to the single job you actually want doing. If all you need is a curtain pole hung, a patch of wall made good or a sticking door eased, tell us exactly that and that is all we will price. The odd job nobody else wants is usually the one we are best placed to do.

None of the following is a separate department, and we are not claiming to be a specialist in each. It is simply what the jobs above are made of, listed because people reasonably want to know whether we have done their particular thing before. Where something has a page of its own, it is linked. Where it does not, the link goes to a guide figure for the work.

We are equally clear about what we do not touch. Gas belongs with a Gas Safe engineer, unvented cylinders with somebody G3 qualified, and new circuits, consumer units and anything inside a bathroom with a registered electrician. We will say so plainly, introduce someone from our network if you would like, and then work around them.
