An outdoor kitchen. New for spring.
Outdoor kitchens built across Godmanchester, Huntingdon and Cambridgeshire, opening in spring. This one is not ready yet, and we would rather tell you than pretend otherwise.
Being built before it is sold
We are designing, sourcing and building outdoor kitchens over the winter, practising on our own gardens before anyone else's, and working out what they genuinely cost to build properly in a Cambridgeshire climate. From spring there will be real prices on this page, photographs of finished ones, and a diary open for them.
None of the work is new to us. A base that will not move, a carcass that will survive a winter, a worktop templated and fitted, power and water run out to it: that is a Room Refresh with worse weather. What is new is doing it as one thing, and we would rather be good at it before we sell it.
What we will not do is quote you a number in February that we have not yet earned the right to quote.
Estimates, and we have called them that on purpose
Two shapes, so you can think about whether this is a conversation worth having. These are estimates rather than prices, and they are deliberately wide, because a precise figure for something nobody has built yet would be a pretence.
Simple, timber, around a barbecue
Around £2,250 to £3,750. Levelled on an existing patio, a timber frame clad and weatherproofed, a treated timber top and an aperture for the grill. No power, no water.
With lighting and power
Around £4,750 to £7,500. A prepared base, a larger carcass, a better worktop, apertures for a grill and an under-counter fridge, and a spur, socket and task lighting.
And the appliances are always yours: the grill, the fridge, whatever you choose, bought at whatever level suits you, exactly as with a kitchen refit.
Ours, yours, and somebody else's
Ours
The base, the carcass, the cladding, the worktop, the apertures for whatever you are fitting, and the making good afterwards.
Yours
The grill, the fridge, the appliances. You choose and buy them at whatever level suits, and we build around what you have chosen.
Somebody else's
A new circuit out to the garden belongs with a registered electrician, and anything gas with a Gas Safe engineer. They bill you directly and we coordinate around them.
Thinking about one for next year?
Tell us now and we will come and look at the space over the winter at no cost, talk through what would actually work where you want it, and put you first on the list when the diary opens in spring. No obligation and nothing to pay.
