In their words.

The six below are our first customers: neighbours, and friends of friends, from before the business had a name. Word for word, as they wrote them. Everyone since has been asked to review us on Google instead.

Where it started

The first six

We’d been meaning to get these jobs done for ages but never quite got round to it. Ian came for what was supposed to be half a dozen little jobs and ended up sorting everything on the list. No fuss, no disappearing off for hours, just got on with it. Nice bloke as well.

Helen & Rob, Godmanchester

Funny what sticks in your mind. The work was great, obviously, but what I remember is him noticing the kitchen cupboard had dropped slightly and just fixing it while he was packing away. I hadn’t mentioned it because I’d got used to it. That’s the sort of thing that earns repeat customers.

David, Brampton

I asked three people to quote. Ian was the only one who actually explained why the gutter was leaking instead of just telling me what he’d replace. Ended up costing less than I’d expected because only one section needed doing. Can’t ask for fairer than that.

Paul, Hartford

My husband keeps saying, “I don’t know what’s different, but the house feels nicer.” I know exactly what he means. Nothing flashy, just lots of little things done properly. It’s amazing how much difference that makes when you live with it every day.

Margaret, Kimbolton

I’m an engineer by trade, so I notice when corners have been cut. I had a good look afterwards (probably more than most people would!) and couldn’t fault anything. Everything lined up properly, everything finished neatly. I’d happily recommend Ian if you’re fussy like me.

Andrew, Godmanchester

Not much to add really. He turned up when he said he would, did exactly what we’d agreed, cleaned up afterwards and charged what he’d quoted. In my experience that’s rarer than it should be these days.

Live, unedited, and not ours to curate

Testimonials on a company's own website are chosen by the company, and that includes this page. So every customer since those six has been asked to leave a review on Google, where we cannot edit them, remove them or decide which ones show. If you want to know what we are like now rather than at the start, that is the place to look.

We ask everybody, every job, whatever we think they are going to say. That is partly the law and mostly the point.

You will not find us on Facebook, so there are no reviews there either. That is a decision rather than an oversight: Ian is not on social media, and a page nobody keeps up is worse than no page at all. Google and this site are the whole of it.

Recently had work done?

One sentence is plenty, and it genuinely helps a young business more than you would think.
